Another of Huck's plans, and the mumps

So Huck devised a plan with Mary Jane to capture the 'king' and the 'duke.' It was very smart of him. I can't wait until the men who saw the king do the "play" arrive there. They truly will, "tar and feather them and throw them into the river!"
Huck though is terrible at remembering last names. Now Susan and the hare-lip think Mary Jane is visiting four different families, and they think that Mary Jane might get the Mumps along with the measles, whooping-cough, erysiplas, consumption, yaller janders, and brain fever. "My land! And they call it the mumps?"
The king and duke think now that they have everything covered, at least until the people find out about who they really are.

  1. I agree, Luke. When Huck lies he just can't seem to stop himsefl. He seems to go on and on trying to fix it and it ends up a much bigger mess in the end!
